Nutrition & Integrative Health and Health & Wellness Coaching

“I really want to be able to help people discover the power they have in them to live life as the best version of themselves—spiritually, mentally, physically, and emotionally.”

What drew you to MUIH?

Nutrition became very important to me once I lost a very large amount of weight. People had kept coming to me asking what I had done to lose the weight and it felt natural to me to talk about my personal journey. I also have had the experience of feeling like “just a number” when going to the doctor. I really wanted to be able to take back my power into my own hands when it comes to my health.

What excites you about your academic field of study?

I want to learn as much as I can about health and nutrition. I really want to be able to help people discover the power they have in them to live life as the best version of themselves—spiritually, mentally, physically, and emotionally.

Has there been a course you’ve particularly enjoyed?

I enjoyed organic chemistry. I have run from that course for years. I would not have even applied if I had known this was a course I had to take. It challenged me and made me realize I am capable of more than I realized. I also love the holistic approach altogether of the school.

Can you speak about the faculty here?

The faculty seems to really want us to succeed here. It is very encouraging.

What is your best MUIH memory?

I would say the nutrition fair that I attended the summer before I began my first semester was a great memory. I learned so much there and it made me very excited about beginning the program.

How do you plan to use what you’ve learned here?

I plan start my own business and switch careers by getting into the field; I want to teach people all they need to know to learn to use food as medicine. I want them to be as powerful as they can in taking care of their personal health in every dimension.

What would you say about MUIH to a prospective student who is interested in attending?

Believe in yourself. If you are passionate about this field you can definitely succeed. Give it your best and be confident in your abilities.

What is the one word that comes to mind when you think of MUIH?

Life.

Is there anything else you’d like to add?

I look forward to my classes. Even when things are a bit hectic in life and work is crazy, MUIH is what gives me excitement in my week and gives me something to look forward too. I want to work as hard as I can because I really love what I am doing here.
