What drew you to MUIH?
I was drawn to MUIH because of its innovative degree programs. Having worked in the health field, I value higher education and the caliber of learning that it can deliver. After more than a year, MUIH continues to exceed my expectations.
What excites you about your academic field of study?
What excites me most is that even though the use of herbs as medicine has a long and extensive history, we are on the leading edge of comprehending the mechanisms of action for which we traditionally have had only an intuitive understanding.
Has there been a course you've particularly enjoyed?
I absolutely loved the first medicine-making course during the first trimester! I was able to experiment with herbs and formulating as homework!
Can you speak about the faculty here?
I have been amazed and impressed by the caliber of instruction and national reputations of many of the instructors at MUIH. If you look at the past and current leaders in the American Herbalists Guild, you recognize many names from our faculty.
What is your best MUIH memory?
One of many great memories that I have from the program is setting up camp next to a pond during one of the herbal intensive field trips. I would wake up to a light mist over the pond and go to sleep to the flickering lights of hundreds of fireflies every day.
How do you plan to use what you've learned here?
I will continue to use herbs for healing for my family and myself, but I now feel confident that I can extend this to this public. I plan to integrate what I have learned in the herbal and yoga programs into my clinical psychology practice.
What would you say about MUIH to a prospective student who is interested in attending?
Attend an information session, open house, or webinar and then jump right in. You’ll be swept up in the positive energy of the students, faculty, and staff.
What is the one word that comes to mind when you think of MUIH?
