Tourists Among the Ruins
Please join us for the Himmelfarb Gallery Artists Reception: The Artist’s Journey Exhibition
Thursday, May 2, 6:00pm – 8:00pm
The Artist’s Journey Exhibition
As travelers along the compelling voyage outward, we hug the bright skirt of the road through light and shadow, leaving safety and searching beauty. Each destination has an uncertain gravity, tugging us toward the center of some blueprint without an edge. A galaxy of detours may beckon, and we might turn back and circle the fundamental spaces where sparks tripped along our path. This is the way the artist’s journey composes a landing place—by capturing its own inspiration and purpose, over and over again.
Featuring Laurel Art Guild Artists: Pauline Clatterbuck, Sally Davies, Thomas Kirby, Carol Leo, Diane Shipley, and Mary Ellen Simon
Exhibition: April 8 – June 14, 2019
Gallery Hours: Monday – Friday: 8:00am – 7:00pm, Saturday and Sunday: 8:00am – 4:00pm
7750 Montpelier Road, Laurel, MD 20723
Since its opening in April 2003, the gallery has featured four exhibitions annually, all focusing on some aspect of healing, wellness, or nature, in keeping with the university’s mission. Through the years, the gallery has been home to paintings, drawings, prints, photography, fabric, and artist-made paper. Artworks are generally for sale, with purchases made at the Meeting Point Bookstore.
The MUIH Art Committee selects artists after a review of their artworks. If you have any questions about the Himmelfarb Gallery, please email firstname.lastname@example.org.
